Turning back the pages of Raleigh Cycles of Nottingham

A selection of photographs, catalogue entries and advertising material from the Raleigh Cycle archive held at Nottinghamshire Archives.  The book traces the history of the company from its earliest days in the 1880s to its global expansion in the 1970s and 80s.  It features such classic bikes as the Raleigh Safety, the Chopper and the BMX.

‘Turning Back the Pages…’ is an on-going series of books drawing on the extensive stocks of historic photographs collected by libraries throughout Nottinghamshire. Each photograph is presented with thoroughly researched captions, with maps and period adverts often being used to extend the theme.
